Algorand Developer Relations

Guide for writing Python code with AlgoKit Utils (`algokit-utils`). Use this skill whenever the user is building on Algorand with Python — client setup, account management, payments, ASA operations, atomic transaction groups, smart contract deployment and interaction (AppFactory, AppClient, ARC-56/ARC-32 specs), raw app calls, TEAL compilation, key registration, network management, error handling, and the low-level crypto primitives in `algokit_crypto` (Ed25519 keygen/signing/verification, Peikert xHD BIP44 wallets, wrapped-secret patterns) and `algokit_common` (`sha512_256`). Trigger on imports from `algokit_utils` or `algokit_crypto`, references to `AlgorandClient`, `AppFactory`, `AppClient`, `AlgoAmount`, `ed25519_generator`, `peikert_hd_wallet_generator`, `sha512_256`, `WrappedEd25519Seed`, or `RawEd25519Signer`, or any Python code that builds on Algorand.

Guide for writing TypeScript code with AlgoKit Utils (`@algorandfoundation/algokit-utils`). Use this skill whenever the user is building on Algorand with TypeScript — client setup, account management, payments, asset operations, atomic transaction groups, smart contract deployment and interaction (AppFactory, AppClient, ARC-56/ARC-32 specs), raw app calls, key registration, network management, testing with algorandFixture, error handling, and the low-level crypto primitives under `@algorandfoundation/algokit-utils/crypto` (Ed25519 keygen/signing/verification, SHA-512/256 `hash`, Peikert xHD BIP44 wallets, wrapped-secret patterns). Trigger on imports from `@algorandfoundation/algokit-utils` (incl. `/crypto`, `/testing`, `/transact` subpaths), references to `AlgorandClient`, `AppFactory`, `AppClient`, `AlgoAmount`, `algorandFixture`, `ed25519Generator`, `peikertXHdWalletGenerator`, `hash`, `WrappedEd25519Seed`, or `RawEd25519Signer`. Also on any TypeScript or JavaScript code that builds on Algorand.

Foundational mental model for the Algorand Virtual Machine (AVM). Use when encountering AVM concepts, stack machine questions, resource limit errors, opcode budget issues, program size problems, or constraint errors. Use when an agent defaults to PyTEAL, Beaker, or raw TEAL. Read BEFORE writing any smart contract code. Covers the two-type system (uint64/bytes), compilation from TypeScript/Python to TEAL, hard resource limits, and common LLM anti-patterns.

Catalog of major projects, protocols, and tools in the Algorand ecosystem. Use when the user asks about Algorand ecosystem projects, DeFi protocols (Folks Finance, Tinyman, Pact, Haystack, Vestige, AlphaArcade), wallets (Pera, Lute, Defly), bridges and cross-chain swaps (XO Swap, SimpleSwap, Allbridge, Wormhole NTT), blockchain explorers and dashboards (Allo, Algo Surf, Lora, Pera Explorer, Nodely, DeFi Llama), NFT marketplaces and tools (Downbad, Rand Gallery, Wen Tools, Minthol, NFDomains, GoPlausible), impact projects (AID Tech, HesabPay, Wholechain), or real world assets / RWA (Meld Gold, Lofty). Also use when the user wants to find relevant integrations, community projects, SDKs, or APIs available in the Algorand ecosystem.

Builds Algorand dApp frontends with wallet integration and typed contract clients. Supports React, Vue, SolidJS, Svelte, and vanilla JS/TS via @txnlab/use-wallet. Covers the signer handoff pattern, wallet provider setup, network configuration, and calling contract methods from frontend code. Use when creating a dApp UI, connecting wallets, integrating typed app clients with wallet signers, or calling smart contract methods from any JavaScript or TypeScript frontend framework.

Scaffolds Algorand projects using AlgoKit CLI, manages LocalNet, and retrieves code examples from official GitHub repositories. Use when initializing projects with algokit init, running build/test/deploy commands, starting or resetting LocalNet, or searching for Algorand contract examples and patterns.

Develops Algorand smart contracts in Python using PuyaPy — covers syntax, decorators, storage, transactions, types, testing with pytest, deployment, AlgoKit Utils, ARC-4/ARC-56 standards, and error troubleshooting. Use when writing algopy contracts, using @arc4.abimethod decorators, working with GlobalState or BoxMap in Python, testing with AlgorandClient, deploying or calling contracts from Python, or diagnosing PuyaPy compiler and transaction errors.

Develops Algorand smart contracts in TypeScript using Algorand TypeScript (PuyaTs). Covers contract syntax, AVM types, storage patterns, transactions, ABI methods, testing, deployment, and AlgoKit Utils. Use when: (1) writing or modifying .algo.ts smart contracts, (2) using uint64, bytes, GlobalState, BoxMap, LocalState, itxn, gtxn in contracts, (3) testing contracts with algorandFixture/Vitest, (4) deploying or calling contracts with typed clients, (5) migrating from TEALScript or Algorand TypeScript beta, (6) troubleshooting Puya compiler errors or AVM transaction errors, (7) using AlgorandClient, AppFactory, or generated app clients in TypeScript.

Builds x402 HTTP-native payment applications on Algorand using Python. Covers clients (httpx, requests), servers (FastAPI, Flask), facilitators, Bazaar discovery, and the x402-avm library. Use when implementing x402 payment flows in Python, creating payment-gated APIs, building x402 facilitators, or integrating the x402-avm package.

Builds x402 HTTP-native payment applications on Algorand using TypeScript. Covers clients (fetch, axios), servers (Express, Hono), facilitators, paywalls, Next.js integration, and the @x402/core library. Use when implementing x402 payment flows in TypeScript, creating payment-gated APIs, building x402 facilitators or paywalls, or integrating @x402/* packages.

Guide for creating effective skills. This skill should be used when users want to create a new skill (or update an existing skill) that extends Claude's capabilities with specialized knowledge, workflows, or tool integrations.
