Flow Type Checking

Arguments:

  • $ARGUMENTS: Renderer to check (default: dom-node)

Renderers

Renderer When to Use
dom-node Default, recommended for most changes
dom-browser Browser-specific DOM code
native React Native
fabric React Native Fabric

Instructions

  1. Run yarn flow $ARGUMENTS (use dom-node if no argument)
  2. Report type errors with file locations
  3. For comprehensive checking (slow), use yarn flow-ci

Common Mistakes

  • Running without a renderer - Always specify or use default dom-node
  • Ignoring suppressions - Check if $FlowFixMe comments are masking real issues
  • Missing type imports - Ensure types are imported from the correct package

The skill allows running Flow type checks but contains a potential command injection vulnerability where user-supplied arguments are passed directly to a shell command without validation.

Runs Flow type checking on React code with configurable renderers for DOM, browser, or React Native targets. Use this when encountering Flow errors in Facebook's React codebase or need to validate type safety across dom-node, dom-browser, native, and fabric renderers.

Generated from the current SKILL.md.

What renderers does this skill support?
Four renderers: dom-node (default), dom-browser (for browser-specific code), native (React Native), and fabric (React Native Fabric).
Do I need to specify a renderer every time?
No. The skill defaults to dom-node if no renderer argument is provided, which is recommended for most changes.
When should I use yarn flow-ci instead of yarn flow?
Use yarn flow-ci for comprehensive type checking, though it runs slower than the standard yarn flow command.
What should I watch out for when using this skill?
Avoid running without a renderer, check if $FlowFixMe comments are hiding real issues, and ensure types are imported from the correct package.
