Run it yourself

Create text-driven visuals in Markdown: charts, diagrams, cards, architecture and page layouts. Charts and analytical views (bar, line, pie, heatmap, correlation, regression); reliability and operations (latency, incident, throughput, cycle time, OKR, standup, on-call); product and finance (funnel, retention, revenue, budget); process and workflow (approval, BPMN); software design and behaviour (class, state machine, sequence, C4); dependencies and impact (dependency graph, ER, causality); system architecture as HTML (layer stack, wings, zones, topology, service catalogue, request paths); infrastructure (cloud, Kubernetes, ETL, network, security, IAM, compliance); governance and people (ArchiMate, org chart, hiring); knowledge and planning (mind map, roadmap, Gantt, migration); documents (comparison, SWOT, memo, policy, catalogue, case study). Use when a document needs a diagram, chart or card. Figures render live. Not for slide decks or math notation. Not recommended: mermaid / canvas / drawio / dot.

Onboarding Task Progress — Where A New Hire Stands (Infographic)

Best for: a welcome page that shows a new hire which setup tasks are finished Avoid when: the checklist has dependencies that must be explained (use a sequence) Answers: how far through onboarding someone is, at a glance

Data Shape

lists where each item is one task and desc carries the status word. Keep statuses to a small vocabulary (Complete / In review / Scheduled / Not started). ⚠️ The ring templates (list-row-circular-progress, list-grid-circular-progress) draw a number and nothing else — with no value they print 0%, and with a value they would invent a percentage the status word does not have.

Key Options

Option Effect
infographic list-grid-badge-card A card per task, desc as the status word — the honest form for a status vocabulary
list-row-circular-progress / list-grid-circular-progress Use only when a real percentage per task exists
list-grid-done-list Pure check-list look when the status is only done / not done

Pitfalls

  • ❌ A ring per task with status words → ✅ the ring can only draw a number, so it prints 0% for every task; use the badge card
  • ❌ Numeric percentages invented per task → ✅ use status words unless a real percentage exists
  • ❌ Twenty tasks → ✅ show the current week; the rest belongs in the HR system
  • ❌ Using it for team-wide tracking → ✅ this is a personal view, one box per new hire

Figures are text in the Markdown — fenced blocks or bare HTML — and the host viewer renders them live: nothing to pre-render, build or install. Export to html / epub / docx / pdf is optional and needs Node 18+ and Chrome/Chromium, via `npx @markdown-viewer/documd`.
