skilld vs Context7

Looking at Context7 for your Agent? Context7 serves library docs from a cloud API. skilld gives you Skills real maintainers wrote, as local files with a linked source.

Comparison · Written by Harlan Wilton

Context7 is Upstash's documentation service for Agents. It indexes the docs of thousands of libraries, serves them over an MCP server, and puts current API text into your Agent's context at question time. If you want fresh reference docs for a library with no Skill, it does that well. skilld is a different shape: a curated registry of Skills that maintainers wrote in their own Repositories, installed as plain files your Agent reads offline.

Context7 answers "what does this API look like right now". skilld answers "how does the maintainer want you to use it". You can run both.
