pixel-art

Retro 8-bit pixel art aesthetic with nostalgic gaming visual style

Design Aesthetic

Pixelated retro aesthetic reminiscent of classic 8-bit and 16-bit era games. Chunky pixels, limited color palettes, and nostalgic gaming references. Simple geometric shapes rendered in blocky pixel form. Fun, playful, and immediately recognizable retro tech aesthetic.

Background

  • Color: Light Blue (#87CEEB) or Soft Lavender (#E6E6FA)
  • Texture: Subtle pixel grid pattern, CRT scanline effect optional

Typography

Primary Font (Headlines)

Pixelated bitmap font style. Chunky, blocky letterforms with visible pixel structure. All caps for maximum readability. Render as actual pixel art, not smooth vectors.

Secondary Font (Body)

Smaller pixel font with consistent 8x8 or 16x16 character grid. High contrast against background. Limited anti-aliasing to maintain retro feel.

Color Palette

Role Color Hex Usage

  • 8-bit style decorative elements: stars, hearts, arrows
  • Progress bars with chunky pixel segments
  • Dithering patterns for gradients and shadows
  • Limited to 16-32 color palette per slide

Style Rules

Do

  • Maintain consistent pixel grid throughout
  • Use limited color palette (16-32 colors max)
  • Create blocky, geometric shapes
  • Add nostalgic gaming references where appropriate
  • Use dithering for color transitions

Don't

  • Use smooth gradients or anti-aliasing
  • Create photorealistic elements
  • Use thin lines or fine details
  • Add modern glossy effects
  • Add slide numbers, footers, or logos

Generates professional slide deck images from content outlines, creating individual slide images optimized for reading and sharing rather than live presentation. Assumes Postgres and uses drizzle-kit's pg dialect. Requires bun or npx; supports 17 style presets and custom dimension tuning (texture, mood, typography, density), with image generation routed through Codex, Cursor, or other available raster backends.

Generated from the current SKILL.md.

Does this skill generate slides for live presentation or static sharing?
It generates slides optimized for reading and sharing (self-explanatory, logical scroll flow, social-media-friendly), not live presentation.
What image backends does this skill support?
It auto-detects and uses Codex `imagegen`, Cursor `GenerateImage`, or `baoyu-image-gen` depending on your runtime. You can also override with `--ref` or set a preferred backend in `EXTEND.md`.
What output formats are available?
The skill generates slide images by default and can merge them into PowerPoint (PPTX) or PDF via included scripts.
Can I customize the visual style of the slides?
Yes. Choose from 17 presets (blueprint, corporate, minimal, sketch-notes, etc.) or define custom dimensions for texture, mood, typography, and density. The skill confirms your choices before generation.
Does this skill require user confirmation before generating slides?
By default yes — confirmation happens before generation. You can skip it by explicitly requesting no confirmation (e.g., '直接生成') in your message.
