Run it yourself

Use whenever the user asks to write, rewrite, or improve a pull request body. Prefer the repository's actual PR template unless the user explicitly requests another template or format; gather targeted evidence, add a useful visual when it clarifies the change, and include an evidence-based Merge Danger rating when the selected format has a risk section.

Credits

This skill is an adaptation of the following work:

  • Matt Pocock for the reference pr skill, whose PR-body workflow and fallback structure provide the starting point.
  • Dex Horthy and HumanLayer for the visual-summary guidance adapted from the show-me skill, including the use of pseudocode, call trees, component/file trees, Mermaid diagrams, and focused diffs.

The implementation here is rewritten for repository-template precedence, evidence collection, safe local drafting, and evidence-based Merge Danger scoring. It does not depend on either upstream skill at runtime.

skilld matched fixed text patterns in SKILL.md and file names. Patterns miss obfuscated code.

skilld run checks every file with the same patterns. It asks for approval before it loads a Skill with a behavior marked Needs approval.

This skill is a development tool for drafting Pull Request bodies. It safely uses standard Git and GitHub CLI commands and includes strong instructions to redact sensitive data. While it can run local project scripts like tests or builds, it mandates prior inspection and limits its scope to existing development workflows.
