Read Bluesky/ATProto without depending on Bluesky's AppView — interactions on a user's posts, thread replies, any repo's records, network-wide backlinks across every lexicon, an account's handle and PDS history, which collections are active network-wide, and layer-by-layer outage diagnosis. Use when bsky.app or the AppView is down or slow, when a Bluesky read returns timeouts or 5xx, when asked who liked/replied/quoted/reposted something, when pulling live Bluesky context cheaply, when reading records straight from a PDS, when asked who references a record or account anywhere on the network, whether an account has changed handle or migrated servers, or which lexicons and non-Bluesky apps are active on atproto. Complements browsing-bluesky, which routes everything through the AppView and fails when it does.

  • backlinks command: Constellation's whole index, not just the five Bluesky paths interactions walks. Counts every (collection, path) source, then enumerates one on request — the same two-phase shape, for the same reason.
  • identity command: handle renames, PDS migrations and rotation-key changes, read from the PLC audit log. resolve says where an account is; this says where it has been.
  • lexicons command: which collections are active network-wide, via UFOs. --others drops the Bluesky and protocol prefixes, --hours windows the leaderboard, --schema fetches the published lexicon document.
  • Sized against aturi.to's Atmosphere MCP, which covers the same ground through one hosted upstream. These three go direct to the source instead.
  • First tests for the skill: 19 offline, every claim with a recorded refutation.

  • feed command: Following timeline rebuilt from the follow graph + PDSes, with hydration (facets, blob→CDN, quotes, one hop of missing reply ancestors, profile names/avatars) and reply-root threading.
  • --html emits a self-contained Preact/htm reader; filters by kind, account, and text; reports egress-blocked PDS hosts and dead repos inline.
  • Prompted by a session where the missing command cost 26 tool calls and produced a flat reverse-chron list.

  • Initial release, written during the 2026-08-16 Bluesky AppView outage.
  • Transport resolver routing each read to a source that survives independently: PDS for repo records, Constellation for backlinks, plc.directory and the entryway for identity. AppView demoted to optional.
  • status — layer-by-layer health probe that distinguishes an AppView-only failure from an ATProto-wide one.
  • interactions — likes/replies/reposts/quotes on an actor's recent posts, via Constellation. Two-phase: links/all gates per-path enumeration.
  • thread — replies assembled from each replier's own PDS.
  • posts, records, resolve.
  • Digest output by default, --json for programmatic use, accepted on either side of the subcommand.
  • Unavailable degradation path naming the blocked or failing host; CLI exits 2.

Notes

  • Validated against a hand-assembled ground truth of 25 interactions pulled during the outage; output matched exactly.
  • interactions --hours 8 over 100 posts: 1 tool call, 19s, ~30 lines.
