Worked Before/After Rewrites (Instagram)
Each example shows the AI-tell version, the humanized version, and what changed.
Example 1: a caption (single image)
Before (AI-likely):
In today's fast-paced digital landscape, leveraging Instagram can fundamentally transform your brand. It's not just about posting, it's about strategy. Here are some game-changing tips to elevate your content and unlock your true potential. What do you think? Double tap if you agree! #marketing #socialmedia #instagram #growth #branding #contentcreator #digital #strategy #success #entrepreneur #business #tips #viral #explore #reels (continues to 30)
After (humanized):
I grew an Instagram account from 0 to 10k in 4 months posting 3 times a week.
one habit did it, and it was neither 30 hashtags nor daily posting.
I made every caption answer "would someone send this to a friend?". if the answer was no, I rewrote the first line.
save this before your next post.

What changed:
- The first paragraph scored 6 markers ("in today's fast-paced", "digital landscape", "leveraging", "fundamentally", "game-changing", "elevate", "unlock"), so it was rewritten as a paragraph, not word-swapped. The "not just X, it's Y" went on a single hit. Dead closer + bait cut.
- Front-loaded a number with a referent (0 to 10k, 4 months, 3 posts a week) into the first 125 chars (the hook now stands alone). Nothing fabricated: the numbers came from the user.
- Cut 30 hashtags to a 4-tag sized set (3 niche/mid + 1 broad).
- Kept the lowercase-casual register and a save prompt with a reason.
- Pass 2 check: the first draft of line 2 read "not 30 hashtags. not daily posting. one thing.", which is a "No X. No Y. Just Z." stack: three standalone fragments (over the 2-per-caption cap) in the negative-parallel shape. Merged into one sentence with a clause that does work, in the author's lowercase register. No em dash was touched (none over the cap).
Example 2: carousel slide 1 (on-image text)
Before:
Tips for Growing on Instagram — A Comprehensive Guide
After:
7 Instagram growth mistakes that cost you reach (most do #4)
What changed:
- Turned a bare title into a promise (7 mistakes) + an open loop (most do #4) + a stake (cost you reach). Now it earns the swipe.
- The em dash was under the cap (one per slide) and was not the problem; it went with the title-plus-subtitle structure it was gluing together. "A Comprehensive Guide" was the real tell (2026 vocabulary on a slide).
Example 3: a Reel caption
Before:
🚀✨ Unlock the secrets to viral Reels! 🔥 In this video we delve deep into the strategies that will fundamentally elevate your content game. 💯🙌 Don't forget to like, share, and tag 3 friends! 🎯🚀
After:
the 3-second hook that took my Reels from 800 views to 40k.
it is not the audio. it is the first frame.
save this and watch your first second back before you post.

What changed:
- Cut the emoji storm (8+) to zero; the hook carries it.
- Killed "unlock", "delve deep", "fundamentally elevate", and the "tag 3 friends" bait.
- Led with a real before/after number in the first line.
- Replaced the bait CTA with a save prompt that names the reason.
