/copy-editing

@30f9b9a

When the user wants to edit, review, or improve existing marketing copy, or refresh outdated content. Also use when the user mentions 'edit this copy,' 'review my copy,' 'copy feedback,' 'proofread,' 'polish this,' 'make this better,' 'copy sweep,' 'tighten this up,' 'this reads awkwardly,' 'clean up this text,' 'too wordy,' 'sharpen the messaging,' 'refresh this content,' 'update this page,' 'this content is outdated,' or 'content audit.' Use this when the user already has copy and wants it improved or refreshed rather than rewritten from scratch. For writing new copy, see copywriting.

Does this skill help me write new copy from scratch?
No. This skill is specifically for editing and improving existing copy. For writing new copy, use the copywriting skill instead.
What does the Seven Sweeps Framework cover?
Seven sequential editing passes: Clarity, Voice and Tone, So What, Prove It, Specificity, Heightened Emotion, and Zero Risk. Each pass focuses on one dimension, then loops back to verify previous sweeps weren't compromised.
Does this skill check for brand consistency?
Yes. If a product-marketing.md file exists in `.agents/`, `.claude/`, or as `product-marketing-context.md`, the skill reads it first to align edits with brand voice and customer language.
When should I use the Expert Panel Scoring approach?
Always for launch copy, pricing pages, and high-traffic landing pages. It's recommended for email sequences, sales pages, and ad copy, but optional for blog posts and social content.
